Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Electronics Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Hampton Roads Transit. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our public transportation systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on electronic equipment, including fare collection systems, radios, and digital cameras.
  • Identify and troubleshoot equipment problems, using oscilloscopes, communications service monitors, and other diagnostic tools.
  • Install, remove, and repair mobile bins, vaults, receivers, and call boxes on our properties as needed.
  • Manage records and maintain a general awareness of our Environmental Management System (EMS).
  • Perform all job duties in a safe manner, promoting safety awareness and following safety procedures and policies.

Requirements:

  • Ability to read electronic schematics and instructions for diagnosing, repairing, and installing electronic equipment.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems and software applications, including MS Windows and Office.
  • Two years of experience in repair and maintenance of electrical and electronic equipment.
  • VA Driver's License and ability to pass DOT physical examination.

Working Conditions:

Work involves lifting safes, fareboxes, and similar equipment, as well as standing or sitting for long periods to repair fareboxes. On-call assignments may be required.
