Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Representative to join our team at Plymouth Rock Assurance. As a Claims Representative, you will be responsible for handling Auto Property Claims in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Investigate and interpret policy provisions, endorsements, and conditions to determine coverage in automobile property claims.
  • Identify and investigate contested coverage claims with recommendations prepared for coverage committees.
  • Responsible for investigating auto accidents to make liability assessments, including interviewing claimants, witnesses, and other relevant parties, and securing pertinent records and documentation.
  • Analyze investigations to determine proximate cause, negligence, and damages, and evaluate and adjust reserves as necessary.
  • Prepare dispatch instructions for field personnel to inspect vehicles.
  • Negotiate and settle claims within individual authority, submitting claims for approval to supervisors when necessary.
  • Maintain effective follow-up systems on pending files, advising insureds, claimants, and brokers on claim status.
  • Act as an intermediary between the company, vendors, and customers, resolving disputes.
  • Ensure service, loss, and expense control are maintained at all times.
  • Adhere to privacy guidelines, laws, and regulations pertaining to claims handling.
  • Investigate and initiate subrogation when applicable, and handle special civil part lawsuits pertaining to property damage.
  • Participate in catastrophic claim handling as requested, including traveling to other locations and extended hours.
  • Handle customer-focused phone environments.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 1 year of related PD claim experience, specifically including comparative negligence auto loss claims.
  • Basic personal computer skills, including working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite products.
  • Able to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and customer service skills.
