Job Title: Mechanical Engineer - Quality Assurance

Legrand is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our Quality Assurance team in Concord, NC. As a Mechanical Engineer - Quality Assurance, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality of our electrical wiring systems and products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collect and analyze quality data to identify problem areas and recommend solutions.
  • Perform root cause analysis and provide solutions to correct immediate quality-related concerns.
  • Monitor and coordinate quality engineering functions, including inspection, testing, repair, and auditing.
  • Design and implement process improvements, including testing and inspection.
  • Develop capability studies, advanced product quality planning (APQP), process failure mode effect analysis (PFMEA), and statistical process controls (SPC).
  • Provide answers to technical questions from suppliers and determine the appropriate action to be taken.
  • Host and support internal, customer, supplier, and third-party audits as required.
  • Analyze, audit, and report quality performance and trends for products and processes.
  • Provide input for quality requirements to Design and Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Provide evaluation and disposition of First Articles/PPAP.
  • Create and update standard operating procedures and work instructions.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field of study.
  • 2-5 years of related manufacturing experience with at least 2 years in the quality function.
  • Experience working in problem-solving/corrective-action/preventive-action.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Capable of multi-tasking and handling multiple priorities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, mechanical, quality manufacturing engineering, electro-mechanical engineering, or other equivalent education.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE), preferred.
  • Product risk management – DFMEA/PFMEA.
  • Experience with implementing and maintaining a quality management system.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Proficient in creating trend charts, Pareto charts, and graphs.
