Personal Care Assistant

Job Summary:

The Personal Care Assistant will work under the supervision of the Charge Nurse to provide high-quality care to residents at Allied Services. This role involves assisting with daily living activities, recreational services, dietary needs, and light housekeeping tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist residents with activities of daily living, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
  • Provide recreational services, including social activities and entertainment
  • Support dietary needs, including meal preparation and serving
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning and laundry

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Successful completion of a training program that meets standards set by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania's Department of Aging; or experience in a related field preferred
  • Minimum of one year of experience as a Nurse Aide, including the ability to demonstrate competency in skill areas
  • Must be cleared by PA State Police criminal history check
  • Must demonstrate competency in all skill areas included in the Personal Care Home directives or be willing to be trained
  • Must obtain and maintain CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Must maintain the standards of care and implement the policies and procedures of Allied Services
  • Ability to read, write, and carry out directions required
  • Must demonstrate maturity, ability to deal effectively with the demands of the job, and a sympathetic attitude toward the care of the sick
  • Must practice good personal hygiene
  • Good verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills required for effective interaction with staff and residents
  • Must maintain confidentiality of resident information
  • Valid PA driver's license and available transportation during all working hours preferred
