Position Overview:
RS&H is in search of a Senior Water Resources Engineering Associate to enhance our Infrastructure Group. This role is integral to our team, focusing on advanced water management solutions.
Role Summary:
This position entails responsibilities in stormwater management, drainage system design, hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, water quality engineering, environmental compliance, and sustainable practices.
Our engineering services cater to a diverse clientele, including state transportation departments, regional airports, and local municipalities.Key Responsibilities:
Conducts thorough data analysis and interpretation.
Engages in design assessments, planning, impact evaluations, and cost assessments, alongside compliance with design criteria and permitting standards.
Develops comprehensive project designs, systems, components, or processes while preparing necessary documentation, engineering analyses, and reports.Creates project specifications, calculations, visual aids, and completes all project documentation, analyses, reports, and forms.
Identifies and resolves challenges with innovative strategies.
Collaborates with the water resources engineering team and other engineering specialties. May provide mentorship and delegate tasks to junior staff and support personnel throughout project execution. May also oversee discipline-specific and small multidisciplinary teams, ensuring compliance with company and project requirements.
Engages with clients to clarify objectives and deliver high-quality results.
Performs additional duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 7 years of relevant professional experience.
Professional Engineer (PE) certification or eligibility to obtain PE.
Proficient in engineering software and construction documentation.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.
Ability to effectively engage and build relationships with clients, contractors, and other key stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with:
Watershed delineation and hydrological parameter determination, alongside construction documentation.
Hydrologic and hydraulic modeling tools (e.g., HEC-HMS, HY-8, HEC-RAS, SMS SRH-2D, SWMM, and/or ICPR/Stormwise).
Drainage analysis and design utilizing Geopak Drainage and Subsurface Utilities Design and Analysis (SUDA) for Open Roads Designer (ORD).
CADD software (MicroStation SS10, ORD, and/or Civil 3D).
ArcGIS applications for water resources initiatives.
Production of Plans, Specifications, and Estimates.
Erosion and Sediment Control and Best Management Practices.
