Key Responsibilities:
- Assess various energy storage technologies and advise clients on the most effective solutions.
- Participate in marketing initiatives, project development, and the preparation of proposals for energy storage ventures.
- Maintain consistent communication with clients and external stakeholders.
- Draft scopes of work, conceptual designs, and execution strategies for projects.
- Generate engineering cost estimates, man-hour projections, and project timelines.
- Oversee project management tasks related to energy storage consulting assignments.
- Serve as Lead Engineer on multi-disciplinary energy storage construction projects.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior team members.
- Prepare or supervise the development of construction documentation for electrical systems in energy storage facilities.
- Develop or manage the creation of equipment specifications, procurement processes, and factory acceptance testing.
- Coordinate design tasks and teams across various locations.
- Offer field engineering support and guidance during construction and commissioning phases.
- Travel approximately 20% for client meetings and project site visits, including potential international travel.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology with completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam.
- A Master's degree in Electrical Engineering is advantageous.
- At least 7 years of experience in electrical engineering, ideally with EPC projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License is preferred.
- Experience with utility-scale or large industrial energy storage, including battery technology, system sizing, site layout, inverter selection, and related design.
- Familiarity with engineering software such as SKM Power Tools or ETAP is a plus.
- Experience in field construction and commissioning is desirable.
- Prior consulting engineering experience is beneficial.
- Willingness and ability to travel as required.
- Proficient in Excel for tracking and reporting, as well as Word and PowerPoint for presentations.
