Job Summary:

The Tool Crib Coordinator will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient operation of our production process by managing the inventory of tools and equipment. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing hand tools, machine tools, dies, materials, suppliers, and equipment for the entire facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain procedures for tooling setup and inventory management.
  • Issue tools and equipment to workers and maintain accurate records of tools and equipment issued and returned.
  • Maintain all Tool Change logs and track tool performance.
  • Produce reports to drive continuous improvement, including tool costs, downtime for tooling, and quality issues.
  • Locate and resolve issues with lost or misplaced tools and equipment.
  • Maintain inventory levels and inspect tools for proper repair or replacement.
  • Purchase tools, materials, suppliers, and equipment as inventory counts reach re-order levels.
  • Research and recommend vendors for tool and supply purchases.
  • Manage consignment inventory and distribution.
  • Receive, unpack, and store incoming tools and equipment, and requisition stock to replenish inventory.
  • Arrange for repairs, services, and lubrication of tools and equipment.
  • Mark and identify tools and equipment.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Experience in inventory management and supply chain coordination.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing, logistics, or tool management environment.
  • Familiarity with computer techniques and data collection methods.
  • Mechanical or industrial background.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
