Join Sutter Health as an Obstetric Surgical Technician

Position Overview:
As a vital member of our surgical team, you will perform essential scrubbing functions for various obstetric procedures, including cesarean sections and emergent surgeries. Your role will involve:
  • Preparing operating rooms with necessary equipment for surgical interventions.
  • Maintaining and ordering supplies for labor and delivery rooms, surgical suites, and recovery areas.
  • Supporting registered nurses in delivering high-quality patient care during the intra-operative phase.

Key Responsibilities:
In this position, you will:
  • Adhere to all established policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team under the guidance of a registered nurse.
  • Perform scrub duties, ensuring the selection and organization of supplies and equipment for each surgical procedure.
  • Monitor aseptic techniques and assist in evaluating the quality of instruments and supplies.
  • Provide support during emergency situations by preparing necessary equipment and making adjustments as needed.

Communication and Teamwork:
Effective communication is crucial. You will:
  • Participate in shift reports and maintain clear communication with team members.
  • Document actions in accordance with established policies.
  • Engage in continuous quality improvement activities within the unit.

Qualifications:
We welcome candidates with:
  • A high school diploma or equivalent; additional education is preferred.
  • Experience in inventory management and supply ordering.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.

Work Environment:
This position requires flexibility, as you will work various shifts, including evenings and weekends. Your contributions will be integral to maintaining a safe and efficient environment for both patients and staff.
