Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist - MRI Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist - MRI to join our team at the VA Cheyenne Health Care System, Radiology Department. This is an open continuous announcement until September 30, 2024.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safeguard the MRI scanning environment to ensure a safe condition at all times.
  • Contribute to the development of policy and procedure for the MRI section.
  • Collaborate with radiologists to develop, maintain, and improve examination protocols.
  • Train other personnel in MRI principles, procedures, capabilities, techniques, and equipment.
  • Interpret requests and instructions from medical providers under the guidance of the Radiologist.
  • Properly identify patients by confirming their name and date of birth.
  • Inform patients about the examination, securing their trust, confidence, and cooperation.
  • Screen patients for contra-indications or risk factors.
  • Administer contrast agents under the direction of the Radiologist or Licensed Independent Provider (LIP).
  • Maintain effective relationships with manufacturer service representatives to diagnose and fix equipment.
Requirements:
  • United States Citizenship: Non-citizens may only be appointed when it is not possible to recruit qualified citizens in accordance with VA Policy.
  • Certification: All applicants must be certified in general radiologic technology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology, Radiography (ARRT) (R). Advanced ARRT certification is required for assignments that include computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), or Mammography (M) duties performed independently, as applicable.
  • Education: Completion of a full-time training course of at least 24 months in duration (or the equivalent) in a post-high school diagnostic radiologic technology program, evidenced by a certificate or an associate degree, accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) or from other accrediting agencies as recognized by the Department of Education (DOE).
Work Schedule:

Full-time, Monday - Friday, 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm.
