Job Title: Utility Construction Foreman

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Utility Construction Foreman to join our team at Kanaan Communications, LLC. As a Utility Construction Foreman, you will be responsible for leading a team of construction professionals in the installation and maintenance of telecommunications infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and direction to crew members to ensure successful project completion
  • Implement and perform steps to complete jobs in a timely and efficient manner
  • Perform duties of operator and/or laborer as needed
  • Operate construction equipment such as dump trucks and skid loaders
  • Set daily production goals and conduct daily walk-throughs to ensure project progress
  • Ensure DOT documentation and monitoring of safety processes and procedures
  • Conduct weekly tool box talks and maintain and submit required reporting
  • Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones, and safety barriers, and flag traffic as needed
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a similar position with a focus on crew leadership is required
  • Experience in telecommunications is preferred but not required
  • Ability to read prints and interpret utility maps to identify the type and size of underground utilities
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to give descriptive and respectful direction
  • Must be able to proficiently use locators to safely identify utilities
  • Must have good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Must be very safety conscientious
  • Must be able to effectively communicate with crew, customers, and vendors
  • Basic computer skills required, experience with Google apps a plus
  • A valid driver's license required with a good driving record is required
  • Unrestricted Class A CDL with Tanker Endorsement is a plus (Higher wage scale applies to CDL holders)
Physical Requirements:
  • Climb up and down ladders, machinery, and other objects
  • Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 LBS as needed with or without assistance
  • Duties outlined in this position will require the employee to stand, crouch, sit, bend, use hands and fingers to handle or feel as well as reaching with hands and arms to spaces both high and low
  • Specific vision abilities required to perform this job include but are not limited to: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus potentially near and/or far as needed
