About the RoleWe are seeking a Resident Care Technician to provide personal care, companion care, nursing assistance, and other assigned tasks to residents at Novellus Clairemont. The successful candidate will work closely with the Resident Care Coordinator/Director to ensure the highest level of care and support for our residents.
Responsibilities- Provide companion care as listed on resident's plan of care.
- Assist residents with bathing, showering, and dressing, while maintaining their individual privacy.
- Assist residents with scheduling medical appointments and other vital services.
- Accompany residents to appointments as directed by the Resident Care Coordinator, Memory Care Manager, Wellness Nurse, or Director.
- Promote appropriate levels of independence in resident care and demonstrate awareness of safety for both resident and self.
- Assist residents with simple range of motion or other exercises as directed by nurse or therapist.
- Participate in and/or lead activities as per Activities Manager and Resident Care Coordinator, Memory Care Coordinator, or Wellness Nurse Instructions.
- Adaptability and strong organization and time management skills.
- Excellent resource management, computer, record keeping, interpersonal, decision making, and verbal and written communication skills.
- Patience and compassion when dealing with others, especially those who are sick, injured, elderly, or from different backgrounds.
- Flexibility to work when needed, especially evenings, weekends, or early mornings.
- Willingness to adhere to and enforce all safety policies and procedures.
- High school diploma required.
- Six (6) months experience in providing personal care in a residential or long-term care setting preferred.
