Job Summary

We are seeking highly motivated and detail-oriented Contract Specialists to join our team at Naval Facilities Engineering Systems Command (NAVFAC). As a Contract Specialist, you will play a critical role in planning, building, and sustaining facilities and delivering environmental, utility, and other base services for the Southwest Region of the continental United States.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise technical representatives on anticipated procurement requirements.
  • Perform all contractual pre-award functions.
  • Analyze and evaluate cost and pricing data to determine cost or price reasonableness.
  • Conduct post-award conferences with the contractor to clarify contractual requirements and special provisions.
  • Complete Defense Acquisition University back-to-basics contracts certification.
  • Attend various training sessions to meet the requirements of the developmental program and perform other related developmental assignments designed to increase skills, knowledge, and abilities in contracting.
Requirements
  • Great verbal and written communication skills.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of software applications.
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university/college with a minimum GPA of 2.95.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Bachelor's (Masters preferred) in Business, Contracts, and legal backgrounds.
  • Must hold U.S. Citizenship.
  • Aged 18 or older at time of hire.
  • Males born after must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
