Job Responsibilities

This role is pivotal in advancing the mission of the facility by engaging in a person-centered educational framework as part of a cohesive team. The primary focus is to deliver support, training, and oversight to individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and other related challenges. Responsibilities include:

  • Providing essential support services for adults facing intellectual disabilities and behavioral challenges.
  • Implementing educational and training programs tailored to individual needs.
  • Documenting services rendered and maintaining accurate records through Electronic Health Records (EHR).
  • Administering medications post-certification, ensuring compliance with health protocols.
  • Fostering a nurturing and safe environment that promotes individual choices and personal growth.
  • Guiding individuals in daily living skills, including self-care and social interactions.
  • Monitoring recreational and leisure activities, ensuring engagement and safety.
  • Driving facility vehicles for transportation of individuals as needed.

Essential Qualifications

Candidates must possess:

  • A valid Driver's License.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact positively with team members and supervisors.
  • Capability to follow detailed instructions and accurately report observations.
  • Physical stamina to meet job demands, including lifting and managing challenging behaviors.
  • Completion of the facility's Pre-service training program, covering essential care techniques and emergency management.

Work Schedule

This position primarily operates from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM, with flexibility required for rotating weekends and holidays.

Additional Considerations

Experience in supporting individuals with mental health challenges or aggressive behaviors is preferred. Familiarity with recreational and vocational programming is advantageous.
