Department Overview

The Parking and Transportation department is responsible for executing the university's parking strategy, overseeing vehicle registration, permit distribution, lot enforcement, fine collection, and guest parking management.

We also facilitate campus shuttle services and bus charters for various university departments and student organizations.


Position Summary

This role encompasses the overall management of parking operations across Augusta-based campus lots, which include 11,000 parking spaces. Responsibilities include permitting, enforcement, operational management, and event coordination.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management:
  • Oversee all aspects of university parking operations, ensuring effective management of permitting, enforcement, and event logistics.
  • Maintain fiscal responsibility and timely financial reporting within the department.
  • Ensure operations are financially sustainable and efficiently managed.
  • Develop and implement departmental policies and procedures in coordination with division leadership.

Systems Management:
  • Administer parking permit systems, access control systems, and mobile applications for visitor parking.
  • Verify financial data using university systems.

Financial Oversight:
  • Coordinate revenue collection from various sources including permits, citations, and vendor payments.
  • Implement financial controls to monitor and verify revenue and expenses.
  • Manage billing processes for permits and events.
  • Oversee administrative tasks such as inventory management and budget preparation.

Personnel Management:
  • Lead and supervise the parking operations team, focusing on recruitment, training, and performance evaluation.
  • Address customer service issues related to parking operations.
  • Assist staff with parking appeals and coordinate with relevant authorities as necessary.

Communication:
  • Participate in various committees and work teams related to parking operations and campus safety.
  • Ensure effective communication of parking information to campus leadership and relevant departments.
  • Maintain updated information on web platforms and coordinate campus-wide announcements.

Qualifications

Educational Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of five years of relevant experience; or an Associate's degree with a minimum of seven years of experience.

Required Experience:
Proven experience in parking management and supervisory roles, with a focus on permitting and enforcement.

Preferred Experience:
Experience in large university or medical center parking operations, familiarity with parking management software, and a background in customer service or event management.


Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

Knowledge:
Understanding of university policies and point-of-sale procedures.

Skills:
Exceptional customer service and sound fiscal decision-making abilities.


Shift/Salary/Benefits

Shift:
Days/M-F (may require work outside normal business hours).

Salary:
Minimum $56,600.00/Annually - $60,000.00/Annually, commensurate with qualifications.
