Primary Care Physician Opportunity

The Department of Veteran Affairs is seeking a Board Certified Physician to join their dynamic healthcare team at the Charlie Norwood VA Medical Center in Augusta, GA. As a Primary Care Physician, you will be responsible for directly supervising primary care providers in their assigned PACT teams and assisting the Chief of Primary Care and the Deputy Chief of Primary Care in reviewing, recommending, and overseeing the credentialing and privileging of primary care providers.

Work Schedule and Benefits
• Monday - Friday (8:00am - 4:30pm)
• Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
• 50-55 days of paid time off per year (26 days of annual leave, 13 days of sick leave, 11 paid Federal holidays per year and possible 5 day paid absence for CME)
• Traditional federal pension (5 years vesting) and federal 401K with up to 5% in contributions by VA

Responsibilities
• Directly supervises the primary care providers in their assigned PACT teams
• Assists the Chief of Primary Care and the Deputy Chief of Primary Care in reviewing, recommending, and overseeing the credentialing and privileging of primary care providers
• Assists the Chief of Primary Care and the Deputy Chief of Primary Care in managing peer reviews
• Assists Primary Care leadership in management of clinic access and matrix development
• Attends appropriate committees pertinent to clinical operations and quality and performance
• Promotes provider education and development by the delivery and organization of educational opportunities
• Demonstrates a commitment to professional enrichment, merit promotion, equal employment opportunity, and positive labor relations as needed
• Assist with the recruitment and orientation of primary care providers
