About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Economic Strategist to join our team at the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS). As a key member of our Economics Program, you will play a crucial role in advancing our research priorities on international economic issues that impact U.S. competitiveness and economic security.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a robust research agenda on trade, investment, international finance, supply chain resilience, commercial diplomacy, and new economic alliances.
  • Serve as a thought leader in Washington on these topic areas, providing strategic guidance and leading research projects under the Economics Program.
  • Collaborate with the EST President and Director to position the Economics Program as a center of excellence for strategic insights and policy solutions.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Master's degree in a relevant field and 10+ years of experience in government, industry, or academia.
  • Proven track record of managing research agendas, fundraising, and publishing in national and international media.
  • Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining relationships with policymakers, stakeholders, and contacts in the U.S. and foreign governments.
What We Offer

As a Lead Economic Strategist, you will enjoy a competitive salary of $145,000 - $220,000 per annum, based on your experience and qualifications.

In addition, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including medical insurance, dental insurance, vision insurance, life insurance, short-term and long-term disability, 403(b) for retirement planning, tuition assistance, flexible spending account, health savings account, military leave, 12 paid holidays, sick leave, and vacation leave.
