Position Overview

As an integral part of our engineering lab team, we are looking for a dedicated Electromechanical Engineering Technician. This role is essential in ensuring the quality and dependability of our product offerings. You will engage in validating innovative hardware designs and providing valuable insights for the enhancement of existing products.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Testing and Validation
  • Diagnose mechanical and electronic systems to identify failure causes.
  • Construct and adapt testing fixtures and prototype components based on technical drawings and conceptual designs.
  • Establish and execute dependable testing protocols for both prototype and production settings.
  • Conduct tests while maintaining precise documentation and analysis of results.
  • Create clear and comprehensive assembly and testing instructions.
  • Participate in design evaluations, build prototypes, and offer constructive feedback for product improvements.
  • Undertake additional tasks as assigned.
  1. Collaboration and Teamwork
  • Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to develop, test, and document new and existing products.
  • Coordinate with various departments to understand their roles and foster effective interdepartmental relationships.
  • Provide technical assistance and training to colleagues and end-users as required.
  • Manage multiple high-priority projects and adapt to shifting leadership directives.

Qualifications

We are seeking a candidate who possesses:

Essential Experience

  • 3-5 years of relevant experience as an engineering technician or in a similar capacity, focusing on hardware integration and testing.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Capability to troubleshoot complex electromechanical systems and components.
  • Proficiency in standard office software (Word, Excel, Acrobat).
  • Adaptability to work in diverse environments and adjust to evolving project demands.
  • Ability to interpret technical manuals and schematics effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
  • Familiarity with standard hand tools and laboratory equipment.
  • Experience operating machinery such as lathes or mills for creating test fixtures or modifying prototypes.
  • Background in building, testing, and refining mechanical equipment for optimal performance.

Education

  • An Associate degree or equivalent certification in engineering technology is required.

Work Environment

  • This position typically follows a Monday to Friday schedule with standard working hours, offering some flexibility.
  • Occasional local travel may be required.
