Job Summary

The successful candidate will perform general exams, including breast, small parts, vascular, and obstetrical exams in a timely and complete manner. They will work under general guidance with some expectation of autonomy and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing general ultrasound exams, including breast, small parts, vascular, and OBGYN exams in a timely and complete manner
  • Correlation of clinical history to the test that is being performed
  • Preparing the exam room and ultrasound equipment to conduct examinations
  • Assisting radiologists as needed with ultrasound-guided biopsies and vascular ultrasound procedures
  • Recognizing and recording the appropriate anatomy and pathology using sonographic equipment
  • Properly caring for sonography equipment and reporting equipment failure
  • Writing reports based upon the scan results and completion
  • Alerting appropriate medical staff of any abnormalities that need immediate attention
  • Using problem-solving skills and making decisions
  • Working independently or with minimal supervision and as part of a team
  • Managing multiple priorities and projects, and displaying flexibility in a fast-paced work environment
  • Maintaining the strictest levels of confidentiality
  • Pursuing professional development for the continual improvement of patient care
