Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Pharmacy Officer to lead our pharmacy services team at The University of Miami. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategic plans to improve patient care and outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and administer pharmacy services to ensure alignment with UHealth's strategic goals and operational needs.
  • Develop and implement clinical and research pharmacy programs to enhance current and future pharmacy services.
  • Collaborate with healthcare executives to foster cross-functional relationships and align interdisciplinary services with initiatives such as quality metrics and financial performance.
  • Advise on pharmaceuticals and pharmaceutical benefit designs to focus on total health through the formulary, with procurement driven by clinical efficacy.
  • Develop and manage budgets for pharmacy services, including short-term and long-term forecasting, business plan development, and other financial goals.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local pharmacy-related laws, regulations, and rules.
  • Lead constructive multidisciplinary partnerships with physician services, nursing, research, finance, and other key groups.
  • Provide leadership and guidance in the development of performance metrics and the measurement reporting process for pharmacy services.
Requirements
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree required.
  • Active Florida Pharmacist License required.
  • Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of business and management principles.
  • Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.
