About the Position

SUNY Schenectady County Community College is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Associate Executive Director for the Schenectady College and Career Outreach Center (SCCOC). This full-time position reports to the Executive Director and is responsible for assisting in the development, coordination, and implementation of educational, career, and training readiness services and support for SCCOC participants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Executive Director in evaluating all SCCOC operations and services;
  • Assist with strategic planning for the center;
  • Create reports and analyze data;
  • Assist the Executive Director with writing SCCOC's operational plan, final report, and other seminal documents;
  • Serve as acting Executive Director for SCCOC in the absence of the Executive Director;
  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate SCCOC's Participant Service Specialists;
  • Lead the planning, development, and execution of an annual calendar of SCCOC events and programs;
  • Contribute to the Center's marketing efforts;
  • Perform case management tasks for participants, including the participant admission process, needs assessment, skill development, referral to supportive services, and follow-up on participants' progress;
  • Develop and maintain formal and informal partnerships with community agencies and employers;
  • Serve on various SUNY UCAWD statewide committees and SUNY Schenectady committees;
  • Provide support to the SCCOC Testing Center.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree;
  • At least three to five years of administrative, higher education, or human service experience;
  • At least one year in a supervisor role;
  • Strong communication, public speaking, and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong writing skills;
  • Ability to meet converging deadlines and employ strong time management skills;
  • Exhibit servant leadership;
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Enthusiasm and a willingness to learn new things.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience providing case management;
  • Experience working with individuals who are economically and educationally disadvantaged.
