Overview of the Position:

Wells Fargo is looking for a Senior Business Consultant, HR Innovation and Strategy to become a key member of the HR Discovery team within the Human Resources Transformation and Product division. This team is dedicated to exploring and analyzing new, unanticipated projects. Our focus is on critical tasks that are unclear, uncertain, or at risk of not succeeding. The team is responsible for validating cross-functional challenges and establishing methods for solution delivery prior to engaging HR product teams for implementation. The ideal candidate will be proactive, capable of influencing teams, and leading strategic initiatives while collaborating across a vast organization. This role will highlight the candidate's intellectual curiosity and their effectiveness in a cross-functional, matrixed environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as an HR Business Consultant to senior leadership, providing vision, guidance, and expertise to formulate a strategic approach for addressing complex, large-scale business challenges that span across the organization and globally.
  • Utilize analytical and critical thinking skills, along with business acumen and innovative design capabilities, to spearhead the research and analysis of highly complex business issues.
  • Engage with all organizational levels to facilitate decision-making processes and influence strategic direction to ensure alignment with prioritized business outcomes.
  • Simplify intricate problem statements into actionable steps that fulfill key objectives; plan, organize, and oversee work to ensure coherence between strategies and objectives.
  • Adopt a customer-focused approach in defining problems and devising solutions.
  • Direct and finalize deliverables, including strategic plans, research summaries, analyses, and design proposals.
  • Develop Minimum Viable Products (MVPs), gather feedback, and iterate to demonstrate and communicate value.
  • Exhibit agile mindsets, behaviors, and methodologies, including peer skill enhancement, feedback, and ongoing team development.
Essential Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of experience in Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, and education.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience collaborating with senior management and leaders to influence and consult on complex programs and initiatives.
  • 5+ years of experience in enterprise program discovery and management, including needs assessments, root cause analysis, strategy development, and business case creation.
  • Proven ability to compile and present information compellingly to senior leaders, influencing solution direction and achieving business objectives through executive-level presentations.
  • Experience leading strategic initiatives and projects while collaborating across a large organization.
  • Self-driven with the ability to inspire and lead a team.
  • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and thought leadership.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a sharp eye for detail.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to become a trusted advisor to business stakeholders.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint Online).
  • 2+ years of experience in developing and implementing new HR business strategies while managing risk and compliance.
  • Recent experience in independently planning, organizing, and leading enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Practical knowledge of HR metrics for benchmarking, measuring, analyzing, and articulating the value and ROI of HR initiatives.
  • 1+ years of experience working within agile teams.
Job Expectations:
  • Ability to travel up to 5-10% of the time.
  • This position is not eligible for Visa sponsorship.
