Job Title: Senior Cost Accountant

Job Overview

This role is essential for executing a range of accounting tasks, including cost evaluation, analysis of manufacturing discrepancies, purchase price variances, inventory oversight, balance sheet reconciliations, reserve assessments, and monthly journal entries. The Senior Cost Accountant will also collaborate with the Controller on financial analysis and sales & use tax entries. Additionally, this position will provide backup support for Accounts Payable across various locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct inventory reconciliations and reserve assessments
  • Analyze manufacturing discrepancies
  • Develop and assess manufacturing cost standards
  • Evaluate operational costs against planned budgets
  • Perform account reconciliations
  • Manage month-end closing processes
  • Handle fixed assets and capital investment requests
  • Support the Tax Manager during Sales & Use Tax Audits
  • Assist in gathering information for annual external audits
  • Provide backup for Accounts Payable Specialist and Labs Customer Service Representative
  • Review and reconcile received not vouchered reports to ensure invoice accuracy
  • Conduct quarterly intercompany reconciliations
  • Perform physical asset audits
  • Assist with various audit processes

Required Skills

  • Experience in manufacturing environments
  • Proficiency in cost accounting
  • Expertise in inventory management
  • Strong balance sheet reconciliation skills
  • Ability to perform reserve calculations
  • Experience with monthly journal entries
