Job Overview:

Apex Systems is seeking a skilled Azure Infrastructure Systems Administrator to enhance our IT Operations team. This role is crucial for delivering high-quality technical support, addressing application and system access issues, and resolving hardware, software, and network challenges. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, enabling effective support across various organizational levels. A strong grasp of IT methodologies and solutions is essential, along with a proactive approach to collaboration with both local and remote IT team members.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and sustain the Azure infrastructure, which includes virtual machines, storage solutions, networking, and security elements.
  • Facilitate the installation, optimization, integration, troubleshooting, backup, recovery, modification, security, and upgrading of IT systems, both on-premises and cloud-based.
  • Diagnose and resolve moderate to complex technical issues, providing support both onsite and remotely.
  • Create, update, and implement maintenance schedules for IT systems while managing local and remote inventories.
  • Support and manage in-house developed software and cloud/SaaS solutions.
  • Continuously monitor IT systems and performance, identifying issues and implementing beneficial adjustments in accordance with configuration change policies.
  • Develop and recommend ITIL best practices, along with creating Knowledge Base documentation and templates. Document troubleshooting and resolution processes within ITSM software.
  • Engage in ongoing research to resolve issues and enhance personal knowledge and skills.
  • Provide after-hours support as necessary, typically for system updates and scheduled maintenance.
  • Adhere to Cyber Security policies and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an IT-related discipline with a minimum of 4 years of Systems Administration experience or 6 years in an IT Administrative capacity.
  • At least 3 years of experience in architecting or administering IT systems within an Azure environment.
  • Proficient in Azure services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Storage, Azure Networking, Azure Security, Azure Active Directory, and Local Active Directory.
  • Experience with scripting and deploying automation using PowerShell, Azure CLI, Power Automate, or similar tools for 1 to 3 years.
  • Prior experience in implementing cloud security and compliance best practices.
  • Experience in monitoring and optimizing performance of Azure-based systems.
  • Familiarity with database administration.
  • Experience with Microsoft products such as Endpoint Manager (Intune), MS Defender, and O365 is essential.

Preferred Skills:

  • Relevant Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect, Azure Security Engineer) are advantageous.
  • Experience in scripting, Power Automate, and other automation tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage workload and prioritize support tickets effectively.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud and on-premises applications.
  • Understanding of Cisco networks and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Experience supporting and administering applications within the Microsoft 365 cloud ecosystem, including Office, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and OneDrive.
  • Familiarity with OKTA or other Identity Providers (IDP) and cloud content management solutions.
