Nurse Practitioner Position

Opelousas General Hospital is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join our team in Nephrology.
Job Summary:We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Nurse Practitioner to provide high-quality patient care in our Nephrology department. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting initial patient screenings, performing patient history and physical examinations, and updating patient records.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform initial patient screenings and patient history and physical examinations
- Update patient records and check records for accuracy at each patient appointment
- Analyze test data and determine the need for follow-up appointments and further treatment options
- Deliver quality care while maintaining all company metrics pertaining to productivity
- Serve as the resource patients need for ongoing care information, counseling, and provide guidance for any patients with critical conditions
- Master's degree in nursing required
- Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Louisiana required
- CPR required
- ACLS and PALS preferred
- 1 year Nurse Practitioner experience preferred
- Ability to operate and handle many kinds of complex equipment
- Ability to demonstrate clinical competence and maintain current knowledge in caring for all ages of patients
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of theory, principles, techniques, and practice of professional nursing; of scientific principles and nursing research; of preparation, administration, and actions of medications; of treatments and medical procedures; of counseling and teaching techniques; of medical equipment as it relates to patient care.
