The Inpatient Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will be tasked with providing comprehensive care to patients within the hospital environment, ensuring that patient records are meticulously maintained and up-to-date. This role involves close collaboration with a hospitalist, nursing staff, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to accurately diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions, delivering exceptional care to every patient.
Key Responsibilities:
- Evaluates diagnostic test results and determines the necessity for follow-up consultations and additional treatment strategies.
- Stays informed about the latest developments in clinical practice.
- Responsible for admitting patients to the hospital and conducting thorough physical assessments.
- Orders and interprets various diagnostic examinations (such as blood tests and imaging studies).
- Formulates and executes individualized treatment plans.
- Prescribes medications and monitors their effectiveness in patient care.
- Provides education to patients and their families regarding medical conditions and available treatment options.
- Performs necessary medical procedures within the scope of practice.
- Works in conjunction with specialists and other healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care.
- Facilitates patient discharges and coordinates follow-up care plans.
- Accurately documents all medical records and patient interactions.
Qualifications: A Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or Nurse Practitioner program is required.
Certifications: Basic Life Support (CPR) certification is mandatory; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification is preferred.
Additional Experience: Previous experience as a Physician Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner is required.
