Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Transmission Engineer to join our team at Arkansas Electric Cooperative, Inc. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong understanding of electrical power systems and transmission engineering principles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop transmission stations that meet all applicable codes, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Utilize Autodesk CAD software, PLS-CADD, and other industry-standard software to create drawings and designs.
  • Provide technical support during construction and commissioning of projects, including consultation with Power Delivery Operations personnel.
  • Review as-built drawings and participate in the department record update process.
  • Perform procurement support tasks, including developing site-specific equipment specifications and reviewing vendor quotations.
  • Support project budgeting and cost estimating as requested.
  • Develop or update design standards and equipment specifications as needed.
  • Provide training to junior engineers and customers as required.
  • Represent the Transmission Engineering department in a professional and ethical manner to all internal teams, external entities, and customers.
  • Develop and maintain professional and technical knowledge of related current scientific developments and government regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited university, plus 0-2 years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Engineer Intern (EI) License in the state of Arkansas no later than 12 months after hire date.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional Engineering (PE) License in the state of Arkansas.

Work Environment

This position requires the ability to work in a moderate noise level environment and may require occasional lifting of up to 50 pounds.
