Job Title: Environmental Specialist

At Quantix, we are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Environmental Specialist to join our team. As an Environmental Specialist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and compliant disposal of hazardous waste streams.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Waste Characterization: Determine the appropriate analytical testing needed for specific waste disposal outlets and prepare Chain of Custodies for waste samples.
  • Disposal Outlet Research: Provide waste characterization based on analytical, SDS's, and generator process knowledge, and prepare waste profiles to be submitted to disposal outlets.
  • Customer Support: Assist customers with various disposal outlets based on acceptance guidelines and disposal pricing, and provide estimates and quotes based on disposal outlet pricing.
  • Shipping and Transportation: Prepare shipping paperwork using waste manifesting system - including manifests, LDR's, placards, and container labels, and coordinate waste transportation with dispatch.
  • Reporting and Compliance: Track disposal quantities to assist customers with yearly reporting to TCEQ, and maintain yearly RCRA and Hazardous Materials Management training, including TCEQ and EPA guidelines and updates.
  • Vendor Management: Approve and verify accuracy of waste disposal bills from vendors, and maintain relationships with disposal vendors and TSDFs.
  • Team Collaboration: Assist sales teams with customer site visits and meetings, and provide sales team with assistance on disposal questions and customer inquiries.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a science-oriented field (Biology, Chemistry, Environmental Science, or similar subject matter) or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience: 1 year of experience in the hazardous waste industry, with experience in RCRA, TSCA, and DOT.
  • Certifications: Obtain and keep current all certifications/licenses required (i.e., 40 Hour HAZWOPER Certification).
  • Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively, and working knowledge of RCRA, TSCA, and DOT.
