Role Responsibilities and QualificationsWorking under limited supervision, the Interventional Radiology Technologist is responsible for performing a variety of interventional procedures, including routine and complex arterial and venous interventions, as well as contrast studies.

Key Responsibilities:
- Execute a diverse range of imaging procedures in the Interventional Radiology Department, including on-call duties as required.
- Primarily focus on imaging exams within the Interventional Radiology Department, with potential responsibilities in related areas such as the Operating Room and Vascular Lab.
- Assist in the training and evaluation of Radiology School students as necessary.
- Interface effectively with various departments, medical staff, patients, and their families.
- Engage in Performance Improvement and Quality Improvement initiatives.
- Adhere to established departmental policies and safety guidelines.
- Comply with regulations set forth by the Joint Commission and other accrediting bodies.
Required Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- Completion of a two-year or four-year degree in Radiology Technology, followed by specialized training in interventional procedures.
- Certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or eligibility for registry with completion within one year of hire.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment.
- Minimum one year of experience in arterial and venous interventional radiology within a hospital setting.
- Proficient in completing interventional requisitions accurately.
- Familiarity with Radiology information systems for accessing previous examination reports.
- Competence in operating interventional equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong communication skills to interact with patients and medical personnel.
- Ability to maintain composure in high-pressure situations while performing necessary duties.
