Job Summary

We are seeking an enthusiastic Ultrasound Technologist II PRN to join our team at Research Medical Center. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our organization.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Radiologist, complete sonography procedures, including routine sonograms and interventional sonograms, such as biopsies.
  • Participate in Performance Improvement and Quality Improvement activities to ensure the highest standards of patient care.
  • Work within established guidelines and policies, adhering to all safety and infection control protocols.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient care and efficient department operations.
  • Meet the requirements for registration/licensure/certification in good standing with the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited program in Radiologic Technology and/or School of Sonography.
  • Two-year program or four-year BA program in Radiology Technology followed by training in sonography or completion of requirements from an accredited school in sonography, including meeting all clinical requirements.
  • Minimum of one-year hospital department experience in medical sonography, including biopsies.
  • Ability to accurately complete sonography examinations as ordered by referring physicians.
  • Experience with radiology information systems to obtain previous examination reports.
  • Ability to correctly and safely operate sonographic equipment and perform invasive procedures following orientation period to the department.
  • Routine use of office equipment, including phone, fax, and pagers.
  • Able to communicate effectively with all patients, physicians, nurses, and other medical personnel.
