Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Veterinarian (Relief) to join our team at Banfield Pet Hospital. As a key member of our veterinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care, performing medical procedures, and collaborating with our staff to ensure exceptional client service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Preventative Care and Medical Services

Deliver routine check-ups, vaccinations, and medical treatments to ensure the health and well-being of our patients.

Diagnose and Treat Medical Conditions

Conduct thorough examinations, take medical histories, and develop treatment plans to address a range of medical conditions.

Collaborate with Veterinary Team Members

Work closely with our veterinary technicians, assistants, and other staff members to ensure seamless patient care and exceptional client service.

Communicate Effectively with Clients

Provide clear, concise information to clients regarding their pets' medical conditions, treatment options, and care instructions.

Maintain Accurate Medical Records

Ensure accurate and up-to-date medical records for all patients, including test results, treatment plans, and client communication.

Requirements
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM/VMD) or Equivalent Degree

Must hold a degree in veterinary medicine from an accredited institution.

License in Good Standing with Applicable State Veterinary Board

Must be licensed to practice veterinary medicine in the state where the hospital is located.

License with the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA)

Must hold a DEA license to prescribe and administer controlled substances.

Proven Ability to Perform Basic Surgeries

Must have experience performing basic surgical procedures, including use of standard medical instruments and equipment.

Working Conditions

This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a high level of patient volume and client interaction. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, stand for long periods, and work in a moderately high-noise environment.
