Job Title: Self-Direction Respite Staff

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Self-Direction Respite Staff. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with brain injury, intellectual disabilities, and other neurological disabilities in achieving a fulfilling and dignified life.

Job Summary:

The Self-Direction Respite Staff will provide supervision, training, and assistance in accomplishing activities of daily living, including self-care skills, social skills, recreation skills, community skills, and domestic skills. This is a part-time relief schedule position, requiring up to 19 hours of work per week, with a focus on morning and evening availability, as well as weekend shifts.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to individuals with brain injury, intellectual disabilities, and other neurological disabilities in achieving their goals and objectives.
  • Assist with daily living activities, including personal care, meal preparation, and household management.
  • Develop and implement individualized plans to promote independence and self-advocacy.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless support and services.
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, as required.
Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in the human service field, preferred.
  • Valid New York State driver's license and reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds and perform physical demands of the job.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
