Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Capitol Technology University. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing various maintenance tasks, including repairs, upkeep, and setup/breakdown of university facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as HVAC, plumbing, drywall, electrical, carpentry, appliance, and painting.
  • Assist with landscaping and exterior maintenance, including leaf removal, snow removal, lawn care, planting, and mulching.
  • Implement preventative maintenance strategies to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Replace interior/exterior lighting fixtures.
  • Support special events by setting up and breaking down necessary equipment and infrastructure.
  • Respond promptly to work orders and after-hours calls on a rotating schedule.
  • Operate university equipment safely and responsibly.
  • Report any maintenance issues to the Director of Facilities Management.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field.
  • Familiarity with hand and power tools, as well as basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, drywall, plaster, painting, and carpentry.
  • Able to operate mechanical equipment, such as utility vehicles, zero-turn mowers, walk-behind mowers, string trimmers, backpack blowers, and snow blowers.
  • Possess dependable transportation and a valid driver's license.
  • Pass a drug test.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Compensation and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is $55,000 - $65,000 per year, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
