Overview

Ice Maintenance Technicians play a crucial role in upholding ice quality to professional standards through regular resurfacing and other designated ice upkeep tasks, including the setup and dismantling of the ice surface for hockey events.

This position offers a competitive pay rate of $19.00/hour (post 90-day probationary period).

Benefits for part-time roles include a 401(k) savings plan with matching contributions. Additionally, AEG provides part-time, seasonal, and internship employees with one hour of accrued paid leave for every 30 hours worked, accumulating up to 48 hours annually.

Responsibilities
  • Punctually arrives for each scheduled shift, dressed in uniform and prepared to work.
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
  • Capable of following both verbal and written instructions.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently.
  • Ability to remain on feet for up to 8 hours, kneel, stoop, climb stairs, and reach/lift overhead as part of ice maintenance duties.
  • Responsible for ice resurfacing, edging, and maintaining overall ice quality.
  • Perform various maintenance tasks on equipment, including blade replacements, while exercising sound judgment to complete assigned tasks.
  • Assist in the upkeep, cleaning, and safety checks of all machinery and surrounding areas as required.
  • Monitor refrigeration equipment, maintain necessary records and logbooks, and notify the Ice Operations Manager of any malfunctions.
  • Assist in preparing the ice before and after events and setting up the game day ice crew area.
  • Work safely, efficiently, and promptly to meet all deadlines.
  • Maintain a positive and approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
  • Complete all other tasks assigned by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
  • Preferred experience in an ice rink environment.
  • Comfortable in front of large audiences.
  • Proficient in operating a Resurfacer with an intermission rider.
  • Valid Driver's License required.
  • Preferred 2 years of experience operating ice resurfacing equipment.
  • Previous experience with ice edger and forklift equipment is advantageous.
