Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Environmental Services Specialist to join our team at Veolia. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing specialized transportation and disposal services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manifesting, packaging, and labeling of waste streams according to prescribed policies and procedures.
  • Coordinating transportation and sampling/profiling material while adhering to state and federal environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Maintaining a professional image to clients by answering inquiries and suggesting solutions to existing/potential problems.
  • Complying and enforcing all compliance, health, safety, and procedures in accordance with Veolia's policies.
  • Becoming familiar with all U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT)/Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Veolia regulations required in submitting paperwork to expedite disposal of hazardous waste.

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related science discipline preferred.
  • Strong team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow through on assignments and manage multiple deadlines.
  • Computer proficiency and ability to obtain a Class A or B Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with Hazardous (H) endorsement.

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Ability to frequently bend, twist, and occasionally climb/work aloft and reach above the shoulder level.
  • Continuous eye-hand coordination and occasional fine finger movements.
  • Ability to handle hazardous material by handling drums, lab pack, household hazardous waste, waste sampling and handling, and site remediation.
  • Frequent lifting up to 50 lbs. and occasional lifting up to 100 lbs.
  • Exposure to weather conditions and ability to work both indoors and outdoors.
