Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Human Resources Specialist to join our team at the Department of Defense. As an Assistant Director for PSD-DAFA Division, you will play a key role in advising on HR policies and strategic initiatives, planning and directing HR operations, and supervising a team of HR specialists.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert advice on HR policies and strategic initiatives to senior management and staff officials.
  • Plan, direct, and coordinate HR operations, including recruitment and placement, strategic workforce planning, talent acquisition, training, and education.
  • Supervise a team of HR specialists and assigned support personnel, ensuring the effective delivery of HR services.
  • Identify areas for productive change and develop solutions to improve HR processes and procedures.
  • Consult with senior management and staff officials to establish program/project objectives and timelines.
Requirements
  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • Males born after must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Required to participate in the direct deposit program.
  • This position is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.
  • This position is subject to the DoD Priority Placement Program.
  • This position requires you to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
Qualifications

To qualify for this position, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service, demonstrating your ability to plan, direct, analyze, and implement HR operations, design and deliver innovative HR solutions, and analyze and develop HR procedural and technical policies.

You must also have knowledge of HRIT systems, experience supervising and leading a staff of HR professionals, and experience providing comprehensive technical guidance in HR operations and services.

Desired but not required: Possess a current DE Certification from OPM.
