Position Overview:
Sensus, a brand under Xylem, is looking for a Radio Frequency Field Engineer. This role will oversee the FSS process of RF assessments within the designated service area. Key responsibilities encompass operational scheduling, customer engagement, subcontractor coordination, network deployment, optimization, and customer acceptance.

Key Responsibilities:
- The primary duty involves certifying RF equipment utilized in Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) networks.

The RF equipment includes proprietary cellular-type base station hardware used for reading and communicating with electric, gas, water, lighting, and various other endpoints.

Utilization of Salesforce for customer relationship management (CRM) will be essential for work scheduling, data tracking, operational verification, and equipment certification documentation.

- Provide comprehensive documentation, including written reports, screen captures, and photographs, to various internal and external stakeholders.
- Supervise contractor installation teams responsible for RF equipment installation and offer constructive feedback on their work.
- Troubleshoot networks that do not meet the minimum contractual standards or System Level Acceptance (SLA).

Issues may include interference mitigation within the Sensus licensed spectrum, improper installations of RF network equipment, base station hardware failures, or power system malfunctions.

Offer insights to the internal RF Design team, VARs, installation contractors, or any other entities requiring tracking and management of installations.

May serve as a resource during pilot programs, testing phases, or proof of concept initiatives to enhance market presence within the AMI sector.

In cases of Network as a Service (NaaS), the RF Field Engineer will be accountable for maintaining the expected response times outlined in the contract.

- Develop topics for and lead regular meetings within Sensus to solidify projected versus actual field performance metrics.
- The primary workload and interactions will be directed by Project and/or Program Managers within the assigned geographic area.
- Training and support will be provided by the Senior RF Field Engineer and/or the regional RF Field Engineer.
- Engage in Xylem Watermark volunteer initiatives.

Job Requirements:
- Relevant experience in AMI/AMR, military, cellular, or industry preferred, with a focus on RF field expertise.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills are crucial. Ability to perform under pressure and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Proficient in all MS Suite applications and general computer skills.
- Familiarity with RF field testing equipment such as Spectrum Analyzers, Wattmeters, loads, and attenuators.

Understanding of antennas, cable types, and their applications, as well as dB values, backhaul systems including fiber, modems, routers, and SIM card configurations.

- Background in Unix, Linux, Oracle, and MSSQL is advantageous.
- Knowledge of programmable DC power systems and associated battery plants.
- Reliable transportation for regional travel, valid driver's license, and a clean driving record.
- This position requires extensive travel, potentially up to 80%.
- Availability for on-call duties.

Desired Qualifications:
- Familiarity with BICSI, ANSI, and TIA Standards.
- Experience in RF Infrastructure installation.
- Proficiency in Linux.
- Experience with mapping software.
- Knowledge of propagation analysis.

SALARY:
