We are seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join our strategic office in New York City.

Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineer will perform technical activities on assigned projects, understanding and adhering to discipline technical policies and procedures. They will participate in the production of technical studies, investigations, and designs in support of assigned projects, seeking guidance from senior engineers as needed.

The successful candidate will provide technical production direction to designers and CAD operators, ensuring projects are completed on-time, in-budget, and of the highest technical quality.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure company technical policies and procedures are practiced during project execution.
  • Develop design approaches and concepts on assigned projects, seeking assistance from senior technical staff when needed.
  • Provide discipline-specific engineering for systems and designs of low to moderate complexity.
  • Delegate work tasks and collaborate with subordinate staff, monitoring and reviewing delegated work for accuracy.
  • Assist in the execution of technical training programs for design staff.
  • Support the development of proposals and presentations to clients.
  • Contribute to the performance management process by providing feedback to project managers for performance evaluations.
  • Assist project managers in coordinating project designs with other disciplines, attending project meetings as needed.
  • Perform specific engineering studies and design analyses, assisting project managers in establishing budgets, cost estimates, and project schedules.
  • Review shop drawings, record changes, and communicate directly with suppliers, contractors, and client representatives as required.
  • Perform on-site inspections during construction, coordinating design requirements with contractors and equipment suppliers.
  • Use design software and equipment to prepare engineering and design documents.
  • Participate in professional organizations and/or client groups to enhance the technical reputation and image of the firm.
  • Perform assigned work within the allotted time frame and budget.
Requirements
  • A minimum of 5-10 years related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PE license is strongly preferred.
  • Healthcare project experience is preferred but not required.
