Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Consolidated Edison Company of New York, Inc. This is a key role that will involve directing or performing specific engineering assignments in the field of mechanical engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct or perform specific engineering assignments in mechanical engineering
  • Establish design criteria and ensure the correctness of drawings
  • Represent the section or department to resolve and plan work
  • Provide engineering support for commercial building/yard mechanical systems
  • Review and approve contractor designs, calculations, and submittals
  • Serve as a consultant within the company or industry
  • Perform cost benefit analysis and conduct conceptual studies
  • Prepare budgets and appropriation requests
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 8 years of experience in design and application of engineering principles
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to perform required calculations and select equipment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • 6 years of experience in design and application of engineering principles
