Nurse Practitioner

As a Registered Nurse in our Family Medicine clinic, you will provide patient-centered care in an outpatient setting. You will work collaboratively with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans, using the nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care. You will also provide triage and consultation to patients, families, and significant others, and communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare team members. Additionally, you will prepare and room patients for exams, perform laboratory procedures, and administer medications as ordered by physicians. You will also assess and provide basic to complex patient education and counseling on tasks, skills, treatment, and self-care, integrating health promotion and preventive aspects of care. You will follow through with necessary procedure or test requests, prescription refills, new appointment times, and referrals to other facilities or services. You will also perform advanced clinical tasks or skills, such as removal of sutures and staples, catheterization, audiograms, laboratory procedures, spirometry, Holter monitor application, casting, complex wound care, fetal heart tone monitoring, Hickman/port-a-cath/PIC line, central line care, conscious sedation, anti-coagulation clinic operation, etc., with demonstrated competency and under clinical supervision. You will also assist in the development and implementation of staff orientation, competency, and educational activities, and act as an expert clinical and department resource. You will also organize and prepare exam rooms, lab, and work areas, including cleaning, stocking, ordering supplies, and maintaining equipment. You will also complete routine maintenance and quality monitoring of clinic equipment using appropriate technique when cleaning, sterilizing, and caring for instruments and other equipment.

Requirements
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the team member practices
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required
- Associate's Degree in Nursing
