Senior Program Officer, Advocacy, Child Survival

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Program Officer to join our Global Policy and Advocacy team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing policy and financing advocacy strategies to advance our mission of improving child health and survival.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and lead the execution of policy and financing advocacy strategies to achieve our program goals
- Track and analyze key trends in child health policy and financing to inform our advocacy efforts
- Manage a portfolio of strategic investments to support our program goals
- Support communications activities to build salience and visibility for our program
- Leverage existing partnerships and platforms to build trust and advance our program goals
- Engage with program teams to align on policy and financing priorities and metrics for impact
- Foster and maintain partnerships and alliances to advance our program goals
- Represent the foundation to external constituencies and communicate key issues and findings to stakeholders
- Outstanding knowledge and experience in technical advocacy and communications related to policy and financing advocacy, including child health programs
- Experience engaging with government partners and diverse partners on development and health, with a focus on child survival programs
- Proven expertise in successful resource mobilization efforts for child survival programs and a good understanding of key partners in this area
- Experience communicating around complex policy and advocacy efforts, and working with governments, academic institutions, NGOs, the private sector, and professional associations
- Understanding of key issues concerning child health or broader health and development areas, as well as financing for new interventions with a spotlight on child health innovations
- Understanding of bilateral and multilateral institutions and mechanisms, including how they fund development programs at national and regional levels with specific reference to child health programs
- Experience in strategic portfolio development, including setting strategic direction for programs aligned with policy goals
- Ability to work in a complex, matrixed environment, requiring cultural awareness and a collaborative nature
- Demonstrated ability to provide vision and influence others in a constructive, optimistic manner, while building and sustaining collaborative relationships
- Outstanding project and team management skills, including experience managing a grant portfolio
- Ability to work with flexibility, entrepreneurship, and diplomacy, both individually and as part of a complex team effort
- Ability to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally
- Advanced degree in public policy, finance, international relations, public health, development, or a related field
- 7+ years of related experience, or equivalent experience
We offer a competitive salary range of $204,600 to $317,100 USD, with a range of $222,900 to $345,500 USD in Seattle and Washington D.C. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, generous paid time off, paid family leave, foundation-paid retirement contribution, regional holidays, and opportunities to engage in several employee communities.
