Position Overview

The Travel Sterile Processing Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring the highest standards of sterilization and instrument management within healthcare facilities. This position requires a dedicated professional who is well-versed in industry standards and has a proven track record in sterile processing.

Certification Requirements
  • AHA Certifications: Must hold current ACLS, BLS, PALS, NRP, and CHEMO certifications as specified in the unit description.
  • Technical Certification Verification: National certification is mandatory.
  • Continuing Education Units: Ongoing education is essential.
  • Pass/Fail Testing Acknowledgment: Candidates must acknowledge testing requirements.
  • State License Verification: Verification of state license is required.
  • NURSYS Verification: Necessary for RN, LPN/LVN, and AP certifications.
Job Responsibilities
  • Proficient understanding and experience with AAMI ST79 standards is essential.
  • A minimum of 6 months to 1 year of travel experience is required; first-time travelers will not be considered.
  • Supervisory duties include managing the sterilization process, overseeing staff breaks, and maintaining communication with the operating room.
  • The initial orientation period will consist of day shifts before transitioning to the assigned schedule.
  • Experience in Orthopedics, Robotics, Neuro, Endoscopy, and Spine is required.
Job Qualifications
  • Certification: CBSPD or IAHCSMM certification is required.
  • Preferred Certification: CFER certification is advantageous.
  • Experience: Familiarity with SPM tracking and VPRO systems is necessary.
  • Availability: No requests for time off will be accommodated during this contract.
Schedule Information

Weekend and holiday shifts will be rotated among staff members.
