Position Overview
  • Oversees the documentation of fixed asset purchases and sales within the specified system, ensuring all supporting records are maintained for every transaction.
  • Implements and upholds a framework of controls, processes, and documentation for the accurate recording of fixed assets, including acquisitions, disposals, and adjustments, to ensure precise record-keeping and timely reporting.
  • Manages the reconciliation of fixed asset and project costing subsystems with the general ledger, while preparing regular fixed asset roll-forwards and other management-required reports.
Key Responsibilities
  • Directs the documentation of fixed asset transactions, ensuring thorough record-keeping and compliance. (50%)
  • Maintains a robust system of controls and procedures for fixed asset management, ensuring accuracy and timely reporting. (10%)
  • Leads the reconciliation efforts between fixed asset records and the general ledger, producing necessary reports for management. (10%)
  • Monitors company spending on fixed assets against the capital budget and prepares reports for quarterly meetings. (8%)
  • Prepares and reviews audit schedules related to fixed assets and assists auditors with inquiries. (8%)
  • Coordinates biannual physical inventory counts of fixed assets. (5%)
  • Investigates and resolves financial discrepancies, responding to management inquiries. (5%)
  • Analyzes and reconciles balance sheet and income statement accounts as assigned. (4%)
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree required
  • Preferred Field of Study: Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Essential Skills: Strong staff management capabilities
  • Preferred Certifications: CPA
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in fixed asset or construction-related accounting
  • Preferred Experience: 10 years in fixed asset or construction-related accounting
  • Supervisory Role: Responsible for overseeing 2 employees.
