Perfusion Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Perfusionist to join our team at Thomas Jefferson University & Jefferson Health. As a Perfusionist, you will be responsible for the safe operation and management of extracorporeal circulation equipment during medical and surgical procedures.

• Set up, deliver, manage, maintain, and operate extracorporeal circulation equipment, including heart/lung machines, veno-venous bypass, and ventricular assist devices.
• Provide support and replacement for patients' cardiopulmonary/circulatory function during open-heart surgery, liver transplantation, and other procedures.
• Manage and operate ancillary services, devices, and equipment, including intra-aortic balloon pumps, autologous blood recovery systems, and point-of-care laboratory testing equipment.
• Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure seamless patient care and optimal outcomes.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in perfusion technology and techniques.

• Graduate of an accredited Perfusion School or equivalent experience.
• 2 years of college (60 credits) with an emphasis in science for those who started their perfusion career before April 15, 1981.
• Bachelor's Degree in a healthcare field preferred.
• Current licensure by the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine or the Pennsylvania State Board of Osteopathic Medicine.
• Certification (CCP) by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion or Certification Eligible by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ACP).
• Covid Vaccination required for employment.
