Job Summary

The primary function of the Staff Perfusionist is to safely operate and manage extracorporeal circulation equipment during medical or surgical procedures that require cardiopulmonary or circulatory support. This includes setup, delivery, management, maintenance, and operation of relevant ancillary services, devices, and equipment.

Responsibilities
  • Graduation from an accredited Perfusion School or equivalent experience and education.
  • Licensure by the Pennsylvania State Board of Medicine or Osteopathic Medicine and certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
  • Provision of service for adults, older adults, and frail elderly patients in a manner that demonstrates understanding of their functional and developmental age.
  • Call and holiday call requirements.
