Job Title: Electrician II

Stanly County Schools is seeking a highly skilled Electrician II to join our team. As an Electrician II, you will be responsible for performing skilled electrical work, including installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in school buildings and facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Repair, install, inspect, and maintain electrical systems, including wiring, electrical devices, and machinery.
  • Test and troubleshoot malfunctioning electrical and electronic systems and equipment.
  • Communicate with administrators and other stakeholders regarding work orders and project status.
  • Measure, cut, thread, bend, assemble, and install conduit.
  • Draw wire through conduit and complete necessary splicing, soldering, and application of friction tape.
  • Install and connect equipment to wiring systems.
  • Replace damaged or broken wires and cables.
  • Replace faulty electrical components.
  • Perform repair tasks on a variety of electrical systems, including fuses, breakers, panels, branch circuits, light switches, receptacles, exhaust hood fans, motors, and other electrical systems equipment.
  • Install, maintain, and repair public address systems, fire alarm systems, clocks, well pump systems, sewer lift systems, CATV systems, scoreboards, irrigation controls, and generator systems.
  • Inspect requests for service to determine cause of electrical problems and needed work.
  • Prepare a list of estimated requirements of materials, tools, and equipment, including amount, quality, and type needed, and present for approval.
  • Perform skilled electrical work in addition to inspecting the work of semi-skilled workers.
  • Review proper procedure to meet safety standards for customers and staff.
  • Maintain records of time and material used on work orders.
  • Complete work orders in a timely manner.
  • Communicate with managers when work is complete.
  • Request, maintain, and be responsible for the inventory and accountability of materials, tools, repair parts, and equipment assigned and that is issued for use.
  • Be responsible for ensuring assigned automotive equipment is operated and maintained as outlined in applicable district procedures.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on equipment.
  • Perform other related work as required.
Requirements:
  • Graduation from high school supplemented by vocational training in the electrical field and five (5) years of experience in electrical maintenance.
  • Possession of a valid driver's license issued by the state of North Carolina. Must maintain a safe driving record.
  • Possession of an Unlimited NC Electrical License or be able to obtain it or a NC school electrical license per NC School Safety policy.
Working Conditions:

The Electrician II will work in a fast-paced environment with frequent deadlines and changing priorities. The position requires the ability to work independently and as part of a team, with minimal supervision. The Electrician II must be able to lift up to 150 pounds, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces.
