We are seeking a skilled and experienced LVN to join our Dermatology team at the University of California. As a Float LVN, you will provide direct patient care to a diverse patient population across multiple Dermatology practices.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct patient care, working with faculty physicians, Physician Assistants, Nurse Practitioners, residents, medical students, nursing staff, patient services staff, and ancillary personnel.
- Assist with day-to-day patient care, inbasket messages, incoming/outgoing phone interactions, relaying physician instructions, medication prior authorization, topical numbing, providing patient instructions and/or education, and procedure assistance.
- Float within Dermatology locations to meet the needs of our patients and team.
- Active license issued by the State of CA Board of Vocational Nurse Examiners with Intravenous Therapy and Blood Withdrawal Certification.
- Possession of active CPR BLS from the American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
- Knowledge of dermatologic terminology and disease conditions sufficient to communicate treatment status with patients and their families, medical faculty, and staff.
- Ability to work independently and follow through on assignments with minimal direction.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of UCLA forms, patient admissions, and surgical dressing applications.
- Knowledge of lasers and surgical instruments.
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with staff.
