Desert Choice Schools is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Behavioral Support Specialist to join our team. As a Behavioral Support Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting students with special needs in a highly-structured, school-wide Positive Behavioral Supports program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement social/emotional/behavioral interventions to support students in achieving academic and personal goals.
- Document and report student behavior, progress, and interventions to ensure effective support and communication with colleagues and supervisors.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to plan and implement academic interventions that promote student success.
- Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, supervisors, and students to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues and supervisors to ensure consistent and professional communication.
- Participate in training, supervision, professional development, and mentor meetings to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Receive and act upon constructive feedback to improve performance and contribute to a positive team culture.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 3 years' experience working with children, preferably in a special education setting.
- Current PCM Certificate.
- Coursework in related subjects, such as psychology, social work, or sociology, is preferred.
- Experience in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a plus, but not required.
- Valid CPR/First Aid certification and Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card are required.
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
- Physical ability to lift and move up to 100 pounds.
