About the Position

Nevada State University is seeking a highly qualified Lecturer of Public Administration to join our team. As a key member of our faculty, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of our students and contributing to the university's mission of excellence in teaching and learning.

Job Summary

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced educator to teach lower- and upper-level courses in Law Enforcement in a variety of formats. The successful candidate will have a strong commitment to teaching, mentoring, and working with undergraduates, as well as a demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Responsibilities
  • Teach 24 credits per academic year, equaling four courses per semester (fall and spring).
  • Teach lower- and upper-level courses in Law Enforcement in a variety of formats (e.g., in-person, hybrid, online).
  • Serve on departmental and university-wide committees.
  • Engage in professional development activities.
Requirements
  • Masters in Law Enforcement, Public Administration, or closely related field.
  • Evidence of strong commitment to teaching, mentoring, and working with undergraduates.
  • Demonstrated commitment to, or interest in, working with a diverse, non-traditional, first-generation student population.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship (Nevada State does not sponsor employment-related visas).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Doctorate in Law Enforcement or Public Administration.
  • Familiarity and/or experience with Canvas learning management system.
