Aviation Instructor

Job Summary

The College of Southern Nevada is seeking a highly qualified Part-Time Instructor to join our team. As an Aviation Instructor, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction to students in aviation-related courses.

Responsibilities

• Lecture and lab instruction for aviation courses, developing lesson plans and course materials in conjunction with lead faculty.
• Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
• Provide advisement to students.
• Some program and/or curriculum development may be requested.
• Attend staff meetings and recruitment activities as requested.

Qualifications

• FAA issued Certified Flight Instructor (CFII) or equivalent.
• Commercial Pilot Certificate with Instrument Rating and Advanced Ground Instructor Certificate, or equivalent.
• Aviation industry professionals with extensive experience in aerodynamics, advanced aircraft systems, crew resource management, airport management, airline operations, or cabin service.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in aviation management, aerospace science, aeronautical administration, or related field.
• Knowledge in Canvas or other learning management systems.

Work Environment

Aviation courses are taught at the CSN Henderson campus, in-person, and are scheduled during the day and evening.

Compensation

$925.00 per lecture credit hour. Credits will vary by semester.
