Job Summary:

The Code Compliance Specialist 2 will be responsible for enforcing building codes and fire codes in the State of New York. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of building codes and regulations, as well as excellent communication and organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Enforce building codes and fire codes in the State of New York
  • Conduct inspections and investigations to ensure compliance with building codes and regulations
  • Provide technical assistance and guidance to local governments and property owners
  • Develop and implement plans to improve code compliance and enforcement
  • Collaborate with other agencies and stakeholders to achieve code compliance goals
Requirements:
  • Active certification as a Code Enforcement Official pursuant to Title 19NYCRR, Part 434, or Part 1208
  • Valid license to operate a motor vehicle in New York State
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong understanding of building codes and regulations
